The latest Peugeot 208 1.2 PureTech EAT8 has two interesting engine setups from a car tuning point of view. The GPF exhaust catalyst will in our view slow down to many crazy engines modifications as will the 8 speed automatic gearbox options. We already list some brake pad and brake disc options by EBC which we are sure owners will love. Yellowstuff and greenstuff pads are a good upgrade for many cars on the road. Being able to improve on the already great styling of the 208 MKII is another area we think will come with time. Comkotes Tuning predict this is where some performance companies will begin to explore the model with maybe a front splitter or rear wing.
Stage 1 remap wise the PureTech 100 engines are already proving to produce around 126hp and what with intake kits and panel filters already available by the likes of K&N, Pipercross and Ramair the future is bright. Whilst owners stay within warranty for the 1st few years the tuning scene on these cars will appear slow at first but quite sure to develop. One of the best mods that could possibly come out for these cars is an intercooler upgrade as that tends to spark imagination amongst the enthusiast and car owners alike.
We know Peugeot are already doing their best on the rally circuits to get this car noticed whilst some are already struggling in correctly labelling the model. Such titles given so far have been 2ndgen, 2nd generation, MK2 and MKII. Until that settles down a bit we think it is not going to be easy to find aftermarket parts so the tuning can begin on these Peugeot’s.
