Lower Engine Mount Upgrade (Torque Link) Street / Race - 208 GTi 207 GTi
Replaces OE lower torque link engine mount which connects from chassis to gearbox. On modified 208 GTi's the lower engine mount requires strengthening as movement is increased far beyond what the OE mount was designed for which may eventually allow the engine to strike the firewall. This extreme engine movement can also wear other components and has been known to pull the inlet hose off the turbo. A worn lower engine mount can also wear the bushes on the base of airbox and chew its way through the upper OE intake fixing point.
Please note this will increase the vibration within the car sue to the firmness of the slicone rubber whihc is the trade off between lasting longer than the stock OE gearbox mount whihc has a softer shore hardness. On modified 208 GTi's and DS3's changing gear can become a noisy affair when using the stock engines mounts since the torque generated by the engine moves the engine back towards the firewall, this can create a thud and generate more wheelhop. Fitting one of these solid lower gearbox torque links in our opinion is more cost effective than using the OE part.
This engine mount upgrade is for street / race applications.
