The OE silicone turbo inlet sleeve can wear after a few disconnect and reconnetions allowing the turbo inlet pipe to work its way off the turbo which even with the slightest air loss can cause a check engine light (CEL). The OE turbo inlet seal can also be quite difficult to push back onto the turbo inlet housing which can make it a time consuming process.
This replacement silicone turbo inlet sleeve which sits inside the upper turbo intake pipe after removing the OE sleeve makes it much easier to connect and disconnect the induction pipes.
