Choosing aftermarket tuning parts made easy..
The RCZ-R was launched in January 2014. The 1.6 litre 270hp engine challenged some for how much power an engine can have compared to its cc. Engineering, specifications, materials ,design and tolerances have come a long way over the years and whilst its quite acceptable for a 2.0L engine to produce 300hp we are quite sure opinions were divided and discussed at length if a 1600cc should have 270hp.
From a technical point of view for the RCZ R what with more commonly known technical markers in the tuning world it can get very tricky at 3 times the power level per litre but can be quite tame below that may have not turned many heads. Some of the restrictions to modern turbo engines in general from a reliability point of view would be the maximum rpm achievable. There is a point managing vibration and metal fatigue becomes a very costly design principle and often one that the market could not bear.
Never the less the RCZ-R was raced by a few teams and still is to this day. Many of the additional parts from the RCZ-R found their way onto the 208 THP, 250THP and 270THP models.
There is quite a few parts for the RCZ-R but with models being so limited by sales volume such as here in the UK only 350 examples where available to purchase and many of those are kept in storage untouched with low mileage this scene never made it out of the gates although from a technical point of view is a masterpiece.
